I’m not gonna lie. There comes a point in every wedding season that we tire of pink. Sure, the fruity colors of summer are appropriate for summer weddings, but we sure wish brides would take a walk on the wild side sometimes.
I saw this table set in the current issue of Colorado Meetings & Events – a publication geared toward corporate meeting planners. But how fun for brides! Take a look:
You can still have pink and purple, but overlay vintage lace, incorporate some black leather, hang some tea lights and WOW – such a different feel than the typical summer wedding. My favorite touches are the framed place cards and the use of a variety of textures – from satin to lace to leather.
Inspired by vintage French art, the look was designed by Denver-based event planner Michelle Gillette of Dramatic Events. In the accompanying article, Michelle talks about how much fun it was to find all the little touches. Think how much more fun it would be for you and your fiance to prowl flea markets and antique stores for an eclectic mix of vases and table coverings in the months leading up to your wedding than it is to simply pick them off a website or from the caterer’s collection.
