Like I mentioned in my last blog, I am not married. I also do not have children. I am 28 years old, and most of my friends are married, if not married with children. I have diligently attended all of their wedding ceremonies and receptions, traveled distances, bought thousands of dollars worth of gifts, bridesmaids dresses, thrown tons of parties in people’s honor and just generally supported my friends in their journey to marriage and family. So naturally, I expect the same.
But when I came across a question asking, children and your wedding, I thought to myself, are my friends planning on bringing all of their rug rats to my wedding? “I certainly hope not!” was the first thing to go through my head.
Don’t get me wrong, I like children, but I also like my friends when they are able to have a night off and cut loose. My friends and I are spread out all over the country, we don’t get together too often, and most of those times when we do, we (they) have kids in tow. So I think that for my wedding, (I’ll let you know if it ever happens) I don’t want kids there. I want my friends there having a good time like we used to pre-children, or when we were at their weddings. The odds of that happening…
So let me know your thoughts: Kids or No Kids at the Wedding???
